Defend the Earth from alien invaders in this action-packed, story-driven space shooter!
My Game Company is pleased to announce the release of The Adventures of Rick Rocket for Mac and Windows!
As mankind is beginning to venture out into the galaxy, a mysterious alien armada appears and attacks the Earth. Space Command calls on its best pilot, Rick Rocket, to take the controls of the X-01 experimental rocket ship and repel the invaders. Join Rick Rocket on an epic adventure across the Milky Way as he first defends the planet and then pursues the alien fleet. Help Rick discover who the aliens are and why they attacked the Earth!
Unlike most shooters, every mission in this game is different, with its own unique objectives and challenges. Various missions will have the player defending command ships or bases from waves of incoming attackers, destroying key ships or installations, rescuing friendly ships that are adrift, capturing disabled enemy ships, collecting satellites or other floating space objects, and more.

“The Adventures of Rick Rocket combines the fun of a classic space shooter with solid story-telling and dynamic mission-oriented gameplay,“ said Troy Hepfner, President of My Game Company. “Unlike most shooters, which feature level after level of the same tedious gameplay, Rick Rocket provides a unique mission for every level. This gives the player a variety of things to do that keeps the game fresh and interesting. The missions are tied together with an intriguing story that gives meaning to everything you do and keeps you guessing what will happen next. Turborilla promises to release a free beta version of their action motocross racing game "Mad Skills Motocross" when the number of fans on Facebook reaches 1001. The small, independent game developer whishes to increase their presence on social networks and are rewarding their fans accordingly. After the beta has been released Turborilla has another ace up their sleeve and will announce an interesting concept involving a formula and the number of Facebook fans.
Mad Skills Motocross is a sidescrolling motocross game that reminds of the golden days of gaming while also utilizing high-tech features. The game sports neural networks for the AI and precise physical simulations of motocross bikes and riders. It can be played on Windows, Macintosh and Linux. One of the testers of an early development version had this to say:
"I have to really say, I really enjoy it. It’s got quite a bit of replay factor even in its current form. The later tracks are really pretty sweet. The arcade mode is just straight fun."
Now Facebook users can also enjoy an early peek at Mad Skills Motocross. All you have to do is go to the fan page, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mad-Skills-Motocross/58755926184 , and choose to become a fan. As soon as 1001 users have become fans, Mad Skills Motocross Beta will be released to all of them for free.
The fan page contains concept art, screenshots and videos showing just how fun Mad Skills Motocross is.

Legend of Princess is a fan made tribute to a certain, similarly named, Nintendo game. In the developers words…
I made this one-level arcade interpretation of Zelda for no reason but being a big damn nerd and just needing to take a break from having little motivation with Solar Plexus. Also, I wanted to try out the item-system changing parts of the level slightly.
Legend of Princess is developed by Joakim ‘Konjak’ Sandberg, the developer of Chalk, and a variety of other very highly polished games. The level of detail and completeness of gameplay in Joakims games are nothing short of fantastic. There are so many small gameplay touches that take his games beyond the average indie effort in to something special.
This time around the traditional Zelda perspective has been skipped in favour of a more traditional platforming (2d side on) view. However if you watch the video below you will see there are still plenty of references to our favorite green suited hero. The chickens even make an appearance.

Physics based ball games are great (I made one called Roll, it’s also great) and so I really enjoy Scriball.
Scriball is one of those games that is hard, infuriatingly so at times, but is also always your fault if you die. You don’t fail at Scriball because of the controls, but because you are rubbish at the game. Yes it’s punishing, but thankfully you always feel like you can do it if you try again. It’s one of those “one more try” games, something that’s well known to eat up a lunch break at work.
The graphics in Scriball are functional at best and the menus use Flash’s built in interface controls (ie they look horrible) but none of this detracts from the equally simple gameplay. Scriball takes simple cues from Line Rider. You move the mouse, and a rope like line follows, and this is what the ball collides with. You can also jump with a click of the mouse.
The objective is to get to the green dot, only there are mines in the way - and later on you will find you also have to collect all the blue balls before the green ball activates. No doubt there are other even more dastardly obstructions in even later levels but I had to stop playing to write this - I’ll go back to the game in the minute.
The simplicity of the game extends to the lives scheme - there is none. If you die you just start again. There are also no points, the only reward is another, more challenging, level.
I don’t know how many levels there are but so far I have played through at least 40, and they keep on coming so I suspect it will keep you quiet for a while.

Based on the Defoe classic, Adventures of Robinson Crusoe is a game that straddles the now-familiar gap between hidden object and adventure genres. Young Robinson Crusoe was born to a merchant in the mid 1600s, but his heart belonged to the sea. After years of traveling across the oceans, a storm ravages his vessel, stranding him on a deserted beach. His ship seems mostly intact, so Crusoe boards it in the hopes of finding food, supplies, and any surviving shipmates. It’s your job to help the boy stay alive and repair the ship so he can find his way home.
With a nearby volcano threatening my loved ones, I thought it might be a good time to let off some steam. This week’s Bonus Link Dump is all about shoot shooty shoot bang thwa-bam! Use of your mind is discouraged, but your lizard brain may come in handy.
This week’s Link Dump Friday is infested with puzzle mites! Yes, the rare puzzle mite, a creature so small, so insidious, only I know it exists. Puzzle mites like to crawl under keyboards and infest internet circuits, turning ordinary games into puzzle games! No one is safe from their wrath. Not me. Not you. Not your pet kitty. Not even Miss Pescatori who lives about ten minutes from your house. FEAR THEM!!!
